Happy New Year!  If you’re like many Americans, you made resolutions for 2014.  I did!  Here are some of the most popular resolutions and how to fulfill them without even leaving the Island.  Join me for some fun in the new year!

  • Learn Something New.  From surfers and sailboats to seals and sunsets there is beautiful scenery everywhere on Coronado.  Learn to capture the beauty with a photography course from the talented and knowledgeable Dan McGeorge at the Coronado School of Photography. 3 hrs/$95 | 619.522.9902 | 1330 Orange Ave. #130 | www.danmcgeorge.com

  • Get Organized.  This is the year to get your affairs in order! If you have children, own a home, have a business, and/or are currently alive you need a will.  Period.  Check out my firm’s “Peace of Mind Package,” which provides all of your essential estate planning documents. 619.694.7892 | 1330 Orange Ave. #323 | www.kerrlaw.net

  • Check Off a Bucket List Activity.  You’ve probably flown in an airplane zillions of times, but have you ever taken off from and landed in the water?? Surrounded by eligible “runways,” Coronado is a great place to take off in a sea plane for a peaceful flight in search of gray whales migrating south.  $380/2 people | 808.732.7526 | www.sandiegoseaplanes.com

  • Give Back.  I love our beaches on Coronado!  Let’s help keep them clean for our enjoyment and for the benefit of the ocean environment.  Even a simple act of picking up trash can make a difference, right?  Please join me and the Coronado Beach Babes for a beach clean up on January 19th from 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – then head to lunch at Village Pizza at the Ferry Landing where all participants will get 15% off lunch!  Doing good with friends in the great outdoors while getting some exercise AND saving money??  It’s a resolution jackpot! January 19 | 10:00 a.m. | Shipwreck Beach (where the SEAL base meets the Shores) | trash bags, gloves, and wristbands (for your lunch discount) will be provided at the starting point.

  • Get in Shape.    Coronado offers lots of venues to get – and stay! – in shape, from fantastic walking/biking paths, an amazing recreation center, state of the art gyms, outdoor exercise equipment and, of course, the beach.  Check back over the next two weeks for my five favorite “Ways to Get Fit Outdoors” and “Get Results Gym Classes” on the Island to help you reach your fitness resolutions!
